DaySpring School of the Arts in St. Louis, Missouri is a unique and creative environment where students can be well equipped in the disciplines of the performing and fine arts -- classical ballet, tap, jazz, modern dance, musical theater, drama, technical theater, fine art, music lessons and classes--and through creative academic programs for home schoolers. Our teachers are qualified & experienced professionals in their fields and share a love for teaching their discipline. Our students are selected to participate in many regional & national programs, many have gone on to gain scholarships in their fields and some to professional life in the arts.
DaySpring’s Dance Department is based solely in classical ballet to provide a strong foundation in strength, precision and grace. From the earliest classes for 3 year olds to the most advanced levels, students are learning age appropriate technique and artistry with excitement and appreciation for the art of the dance.
DaySpring’s Music department is built on the experience of professional musicians in the St. Louis area. We believe that intensive one-on-one study on an instrument not only is the best way to learn music, but it also produces other valuable qualities in our kids as well. Students learn not only artistry and musicality, but critical thinking & problem solving in learning how to practice, focus and attention development, time management and thought organization.
The Fine Arts department at DaySpring is developing with classes currently for ages 5 through 15. With qualified and experienced teachers, our goal is to develop the student’s creativity as we are equipping them with tools and understanding about the elements of visual art. This is done by examining great works of art, discussing the important elements in them, and applying those elements to the student’s own projects.
Musical Theater, Drama, and Backstage give your dramatic child the training, focus and outlet that he or she absolutely needs! These elements of the arts challenge and develop the child who has that creative bent, and training in these areas at DaySpring brings the much needed self-control and discipline. We set high standards for the students and assist them as they reach for their goals. Along with gaining important theatrical and performance skills and experience, many character traits and life skills are learned. |
